History of Lookout Mountain Antenna Tower Land

Citizens Plan & Demonstrate

March, 1999: Three years after CARE first requested suport of JeffCo Health director Dr.

Mark Johnson, he provides a letter to County Commissioners declaring: “I tend to favor the as low as
reasonably achievable known as ALARA.” He recommends investigation of all reasonable alternatives before
increasing the amount of EMR on Lookout Mountain.

Meanwhile citizens walk their neighborhoods asking about RF
interference
. They discover sound amplifiers do not work for
music at Boettcher Mansion wedding receptions; computers at
Buffalo Bill Museum malfunction often; Mother Cabrini Shrine
security gate opens and closes sporadically on its own; some
wireless garage doors and car locks malfunction; Golden
business owners suffering from interference with electrical
devices ask City Council to testify against more radiation from
the Supertower.

responds to requests by Senator Wayne Allard and
Representative Tom Tancredo for clarification of land
use. Kennard states Jefferson County (all local
