Antenna Tower Land

|
|
Citizens Plan & Demonstrate March, 1999: Three years after CARE first requested suport of JeffCo Health director Dr.
|
|
|
Mark Johnson, he provides a letter to County Commissioners declaring: “I tend to favor the as low as
reasonably achievable known as ALARA.” He recommends investigation of all reasonable alternatives before

Meanwhile citizens walk their neighborhoods asking about RF
interference. They discover sound amplifiers do not work for
music at Boettcher Mansion wedding receptions; computers at
Buffalo Bill Museum malfunction often; Mother Cabrini Shrine
security gate opens and closes sporadically on its own; some
wireless garage doors and car locks malfunction; Golden
business owners suffering from interference with electrical
devices ask City Council to testify against more radiation from
the Supertower.
- March 3, 1999: FCC Chairman Kennard publicly
responds
to requests by Senator Wayne Allard and
Representative
Tom Tancredo for clarification of land
use. Kennard states
Jefferson County (all local
jurisdictions) control any and all
land use for broadcast
antenna towers.

demonstrate at the Taj Mahal county building wearing t-shirts
and carrying the American flag. They present the County
Commissioners with a petition with 2,500 citizens signatures
opposing the Supertower. Although press releases are sent to
all major media, there is no coverage of this demonstration.
- March 12, 1999: JeffCo Board of Education recommends
denial of the Supertower until “definite proof that... the
addition will not harm children attending Ralston Elementary
School.”
